AWPer
The T AWPer can open from Garage, Mid, A Main, B Halls or another spawn-supported line. The weapon should make CT aggression expensive and give riflers room to establish the default, but it still needs a trade plan and a route out. A quiet held angle can be more useful than an unsupported peek if it prevents the defense from re-clearing or rotating through a long lane.
Opening options
- Take a supported pick toward Mid or an extremity, then reset before the CT utility and trade arrive (Aggressive)
- Hold the push or re-peek behind the riflers while they claim close space (Defensive)
- Move the AWP after the first utility exchange so the next sightline protects the likely split or regroup (Situational)
Mid-round decisions
- When Mid is contested, cover the long line the riflers cannot safely hold and let them clear the close angles. The AWP should complete the spacing rather than duplicate it.
- After map control is gained, watch the defensive route that can ruin the execute: Highway, Connector, Z, CT or a deep site re-peek, depending on the final call.
- In the post-plant, choose a line tied to the bomb and a teammate's contact. An impressive angle that cannot stop the defuse or be recovered after a miss is poor structure.
What breaks the structure
- Peeking a close, utility-heavy lane without a rifle who can trade or recover the weapon
- Repositioning so often that the AWP is absent from every important timing
What to study in the POV
- How spawn and team utility decide the first angle
- The moment the AWPer stops hunting a pick and starts covering the execute
- Post-plant lines, escape routes and the teammate contact that activates the shot
