AWPer
Usually starts around T Spawn, Top Mid, Red Room, A Main, B Ramp or late Donut / Cave timings depending on spawn, default structure and the opening plan. Can change responsibilities with the Mid playmaker, B playmaker, A extremity or lurker between rounds, especially when the team wants to punish CT aggression, pressure Mid, hold rotations or create a pick before committing to either bombsite. Opening kills matter, and the T-side AWPer controls how freely CTs can fight Mid, re-peek Donut, contest B Lane or rotate through CT paths.

About these averages
Metric: all archived map-side rows with the exact Ancient T “Awper” label. Timeframe: 2024-12-18 to 2026-08-28. Sample: n=5,885.
Source: CSdex V1 aggregate performance archive. Fallback: no fuzzy role-label mapping. Risk: the average describes the archive, not the correct target for every team or round.
Pathings and possibilities from starting Mid / Red Room
Peek Mid / Red Room / Donut lines with teammate utility to punish early CT aggression. (Aggressive) Hold passive Mid angles to catch re-peeks, pushes or rotation mistakes. (Defensive) Reposition toward A Main, B Ramp, Cave or Donut according to early information. (Situational)
Pathings and possibilities from starting A-side routes
Support A Main pressure from safer long-range lines Hold Donut / CT rotation timings after A control is gained Reposition back toward Mid if the round slows down
Pathings and possibilities from starting B-side routes
Support B Ramp / Cave pressure with long-range cover Hold B Lane or CT timings during B splits Reconnect with Mid / Donut depending on CT reactions
Mid-round patterns
Support Mid control with the AWP, holding long sightlines around Red Room, Mid, Donut and CT-related timings while riflers clear close angles and pressure utility. Decide whether to take first contact, hold the trade line or stay passive to punish CT re-peeks. It works when the T side wants Mid control before choosing between A split, B split or a late reset. Pressure one extremity from range, making it harder for CTs to fight A Main, B Ramp or Cave for free information. The AWPer can punish exposed defenders, cover teammates taking space or hold the line after utility forces CTs back. This makes sense when the team wants to create early pressure, force rotations or make the final hit harder to read. Hold CT rotation timings after map control is gained, especially around Donut, CT, B Lane or post-plant lines. This can isolate anchors, stop information plays and protect the bomb carrier before the final hit. The pattern fits slow defaults, after early utility has been traded or when the T side wants to freeze CT movement before committing. Reposition late toward the final hit to stabilize the execute instead of forcing a risky opening duel. The AWPer can cover Donut, CT, Cave, Temple, A Main or B Lane while riflers take the closer fights. The setup fits when CT positions are uncertain, when the team has already created pressure elsewhere or when the round depends on converting map control into a clean site take.
