Second Outside
Usually starts around T Spawn, Silo, T Roof, Outside smoke support, Lobby fallback routes or late Secret timings depending on spawn and the opening plan. Can change responsibilities with the primary Outside player, AWPer, Lobby player or roamer between rounds, especially when the team wants to pressure Yard with layered spacing instead of sending one player alone. The player in the role supports Outside control without always being the first contact: it helps trade, holds re-peeks, sells the cross or turns Yard pressure into lower access.

About these averages
Metric: all archived map-side rows with the exact Nuke T “Second Outside” label. Timeframe: 2024-12-18 to 2026-08-28. Sample: n=5,534.
Source: CSdex V1 aggregate performance archive. Fallback: no fuzzy role-label mapping. Risk: the average describes the archive, not the correct target for every team or round.
Pathings and possibilities from starting Outside support
- Follow the primary Outside player through smokes to trade Yard or Secret fights. (Aggressive)
- Hold passive angles against Garage, Red, Main or Heaven re-peeks. (Defensive)
- Return Lobby, split Main or drop Secret according to CT reactions. (Situational)
Pathings and possibilities from starting Lobby / Roof
- Throw or layer Outside utility before joining the cross
- Delay behind the first Outside contact to punish rotations
- Reconnect with upper pressure if CTs over-stack lower
Mid-round patterns
- Support Outside control as the second layer, making it harder for CTs to isolate the first player crossing Yard. Teams choose it when the T side wants reliable Secret access or wants to force rotations.
- Hold the re-peek and rotation timings after Outside utility lands. This can punish Garage swings, Heaven movement or Main aggression before the final call is made.
- Convert Outside pressure into a late split, either by joining lower, returning Main or helping upper after CTs rotate. The hard decision is reading whether the defense respected Outside too much or ignored it too early.
