Mid

Usually starts around Mid, White Box, Highway, Z or Connector. This player owns the first central read and must keep Garage pressure, Boost and late vent or Highway routes connected in one picture. Winning Mid can compress the T default, but staying exposed after the advantage is gained can hand the space straight back and weaken both sites.

Opening options

  • Fight for Mid with an AWP or rifle setup, using teammate utility to take a duel that can be traded (Aggressive)
  • Hold White Box, Z or a deeper cross and make the attackers spend utility before they can cross or boost (Defensive)
  • Give early space, track how Ts use it and re-clear with a teammate when their supporting utility has faded (Situational)

Mid-round decisions

  • After first contact, report how many players and which grenades were committed. A smoke wall and one rifle do not carry the same rotation meaning as a supported Mid group.
  • Use Highway and Connector as responsibility changes, not free exits. Before helping A or B, make sure another defender has inherited the route the attackers can use behind you.
  • If Mid is lost, choose a site-biased crossfire or a planned re-clear. Standing between both ideas usually leaves the player late to the site and exposed to the split.

What breaks the structure

  • Repeeking the same central line after utility has shown the CT position
  • Rotating without handing off Boost, Highway, Vent or Connector to a teammate

What to study in the POV

  • How the first grenade sequence creates a favorable central duel
  • The difference between information, control and a confirmed site split
  • Where the player moves after Mid is won, lost or deliberately conceded
