A Rotator
Usually starts around A Site, Ramp, Short, CT Spawn or Long support positions depending on spawn, utility and the opening setup. Can change responsibilities with the Long player, A Anchor, AWPer or Mid rotator between rounds, especially when the team wants to contest Catwalk, support Long fights or stay ready to rotate toward B through CT. In this slot, the player connects A defense with the rest of the map: it has to help against A pressure without becoming trapped too early, while still being ready to react when Mid or B becomes the real threat.

About these averages
Metric: all archived map-side rows with the exact Dust2 CT “A rotator” label. Timeframe: 2024-12-18 to 2026-08-28. Sample: n=6,801.
Source: CSdex V1 aggregate performance archive. Fallback: no fuzzy role-label mapping. Risk: the average describes the archive, not the correct target for every team or round.
Pathings and possibilities from starting Short / A
- Fight Catwalk with teammate utility to deny early A split pressure. (Aggressive)
- Hold A Site / Ramp passively while staying ready to support Long or CT rotations. (Defensive)
- Rotate through CT toward Mid / B according to information and pressure. (Situational)
Pathings and possibilities from starting Long support
- Flash or trade the Long player during early fights
- Fall back into A Site / Ramp after Long contact
- Reconnect with Short or CT if the round shifts toward Mid or B
Mid-round patterns
- Support A through Short, Ramp or Site positioning, keeping the Long player / A Anchor from being isolated. Decide whether to fight Catwalk, hold the crossfire or fall back into a retake setup according to the amount of Long and Short control Ts have taken. This makes sense when the CT side expects A pressure or wants to keep the bombsite stable without overcommitting.
- Rotate between A and Mid through CT, reading whether Catwalk, Mid Doors or B pressure is the real threat. The assignment often has to choose between arriving early to help B or staying long enough to prevent an A split. The pattern fits default rounds, slow T rounds or situations where information is incomplete.
- Re-clear or pressure Short / Long in the mid-round to recover information and prevent Ts from setting up a free late A hit. This can allow the Mid rotator or AWPer to move elsewhere while A remains playable. The setup fits when Ts slow down after early pressure, when A control is contested or when the CT side needs information before deciding the final stack.
