AWPer
Usually starts around T Spawn, Outside Long, Top Mid, Lower B, Upper Tunnels or close to Catwalk timings depending on spawn, default structure and the opening plan. Can change responsibilities with the Long players, Mid playmaker, Lower lurker or B split group between rounds, especially when the team wants to punish CT aggression, pressure Mid, fight Long, hold rotations or create a pick before committing to either bombsite. Opening kills matter, and the T-side AWPer controls how freely CTs can peek Mid, fight Long, re-clear Lower or rotate through CT.

About these averages
Metric: all archived map-side rows with the exact Dust2 T “Awper” label. Timeframe: 2024-12-18 to 2026-08-28. Sample: n=6,613.
Source: CSdex V1 aggregate performance archive. Fallback: no fuzzy role-label mapping. Risk: the average describes the archive, not the correct target for every team or round.
Pathings and possibilities from starting Mid
- Peek Mid Doors / Xbox / Catwalk lines with teammate utility to punish early CT aggression. (Aggressive)
- Hold passive Mid angles to catch re-peeks, pushes or rotation mistakes. (Defensive)
- Reposition toward Catwalk, Lower, Long or B split timings according to early information. (Situational)
Pathings and possibilities from starting Long / A-side routes
- Support Long fights from safer lines while riflers clear close angles
- Hold A Site / Cross / Ramp angles after Long control is gained
- Reposition back toward Mid or Catwalk if the round slows down
Pathings and possibilities from starting B / Lower routes
- Support Tunnels or Lower pressure with long-range cover
- Hold B Doors / Window / CT timings during B splits
- Reconnect with Mid, Catwalk or late B hits depending on CT reactions
Mid-round patterns
- Support Mid control with the AWP, holding long sightlines around Mid Doors, Xbox, Catwalk and CT while riflers clear close angles and pressure utility. Decide whether to take first contact, hold the trade line or stay passive to punish CT re-peeks. Use this when the T side wants Mid control before choosing between A split, B split or a late reset.
- Pressure Long / A with the AWP, making it harder for CTs to fight for early Long control or freely hold the A cross. The AWPer can punish exposed defenders, cover teammates crossing into execute positions or hold post-plant lines after space is gained. It works when the team wants to take Long, threaten A slowly or force CT rotations away from Mid and B.
- Hold CT rotation timings after map control is gained, especially around Mid Doors, CT Spawn, B Doors or A Cross. This can isolate anchors, stop information plays and protect the bomb carrier before the final hit. The setup fits slow defaults, after early utility has been traded or when the T side wants to freeze CT movement before committing.
- Reposition late toward the final hit to stabilize the execute instead of forcing a risky opening duel. The AWPer can cover Cross, CT, Window, Doors, Ramp or post-plant lines while riflers take the closer fights. This makes sense when CT positions are uncertain, when the team has already created pressure elsewhere or when the round depends on converting map control into a clean site take.
