A Playmaker
Usually starts around T Ramp, Mid, Second Mid, Boiler, Top Mid or close to Apartments timings depending on spawn, default structure and the opening plan. Can change responsibilities with the AWPer, A extremity, Banana players or lurker between rounds, especially when the team wants to pressure Mid, split A, punish CT aggression or force rotations away from B. Boiler and Mid control can turn into Short pressure, Long control, Apps timing or a late fake that makes the CT setup difficult to read.
Pathings and possibilities from starting Boiler / Mid
Fight Boiler / Top Mid / Short with teammate utility to deny CT control and create space. (Aggressive) Hold Boiler / Mid passively to punish CT pushes, re-peeks or information plays. (Defensive) Move into Short, Long, Apartments or late A splits according to CT reactions. (Situational)
Pathings and possibilities from Second Mid / support routes
Support Apartments pressure with flashes and trade spacing Pressure Boiler to split the attention of Short and Pit players Reconnect with Banana or late Mid hits depending on the round call
Mid-round patterns
Control Boiler / Mid as the main A-side playmaking route, making it difficult for CTs to hold Short, Long and Apartments comfortably. Decide whether to keep fighting forward, hold for aggression or reconnect with teammates according to utility, sound and teammate progress. It is practical when the T side wants to build A pressure without instantly committing to the site. Play as the connector between Mid control and the final A hit, turning space into pressure on Short, Long, Apps or Arch. The player in the role often decides whether the team should split, fake, reset or accelerate. Expect this when CT positions are unclear, when the A extremity is still alive or when the round depends on converting Mid control into a clean finish. Lurk or delay around Boiler / Mid to punish rotations and cut off CT movement. This can isolate Pit, stop Arch rotations or make CTs hesitate before reinforcing either bombsite. Teams use it in late-round situations, after early A-side control is gained or when the team wants to make the final execute harder to read. Reconnect with Banana after forcing A reactions, turning CT movement against them. This can make the defense hesitate between holding A, rotating B or preserving utility for the final hit. It fits when the T side wants to fake A pressure, punish passive CT setups or convert early Mid control into a stronger late-round B finish.
