AWPer
Usually starts around T Ramp, Banana, Mid, Second Mid or Apartments depending on spawn, default structure and the opening plan. Can change responsibilities with riflers between rounds, especially when the team wants to punish Banana aggression, challenge Mid control, hold CT pushes or create a pick before committing to a site. Opening duels matter, and the T-side AWPer controls how freely CTs can fight for space and forces them to respect long sightlines before rotating or re-peeking.

About these averages
Metric: all archived map-side rows with the exact Inferno T “Awper” label. Timeframe: 2024-12-18 to 2026-08-28. Sample: n=4,703.
Source: CSdex V1 aggregate performance archive. Fallback: no fuzzy role-label mapping. Risk: the average describes the archive, not the correct target for every team or round.
Pathings and possibilities from starting Mid / Second Mid
- Peek Mid / Top Mid with support to punish early CT aggression. (Aggressive)
- Hold passive angles for CT pushes, re-peeks or utility mistakes. (Defensive)
- Reposition toward Banana, Apps or late A control according to early information. (Situational)
Pathings and possibilities from starting Banana
- Hold deep Banana angles to punish CT fights or utility reload timings
- Support riflers taking Banana control from safer lines
- Fall back and hold rotations once Banana control is secured
Mid-round patterns
- Support A control with the AWP, holding Mid, Long, Short or Apps-related sightlines while riflers clear close angles. Decide whether to take first contact, hold the trade line or stay passive to punish CT re-peeks. It is practical when the T side wants to pressure A before deciding between a full execute, late Apps pressure or rotation back toward B.
- Control Banana timings from range, making it harder for CTs to fight, re-clear or rotate freely. The AWPer can punish aggressive B players, cover teammates taking space or hold the line after utility forces CTs back. Expect this when the team wants Banana control, when CTs are contesting early or when the round depends on freezing the B defense.
- Hold late-round rotations and CT re-peeks after map control is gained. This can isolate anchors, stop information plays and protect the bomb carrier before the final hit. This is common in slow defaults, after early utility has been traded or when the T side wants to turn map control into a clean execute.
