Ivy
Usually controls Ivy from a forward line, a train-side crossfire or a deeper outer-yard position. The player protects a long flank into A and owns information that can release teammates toward T Main, Popdog or B. Ivy can be quiet for most of a round and still decide the finish, so discipline matters more than constant re-peeking.

About these averages
Metric: all archived map-side rows with the exact Train CT “Ivy” label. Timeframe: 2024-12-18 to 2026-08-28. Sample: n=1,461.
Source: CSdex V1 aggregate performance archive. Fallback: no fuzzy role-label mapping. Risk: the average describes the archive, not the correct target for every team or round.
Opening options
- Contest Ivy with an AWP or rifle setup, supported by utility that allows a safe first duel and fallback (Aggressive)
- Hold a deeper line that denies the exit and keeps the attacker visible long enough for a crossfire (Defensive)
- Give the entrance early, track the utility and prepare a timed re-clear with an outer-yard teammate (Situational)
Mid-round decisions
- Report whether Ivy control is held, contested or merely unobserved. Those are different states and should produce different rotations across the map.
- If A pressure arrives through T Main or Popdog, keep Ivy covered until another player takes the handoff. The late lurker is most dangerous when every defender turns toward the obvious execute.
- When re-clearing, use the information to improve the whole setup. Gaining Ivy should free a teammate or tighten a site, not tempt the player into an unsupported chase.
What breaks the structure
- Calling Ivy clear after losing vision rather than after a real check or teammate handoff
- Fighting too far forward once T utility has removed the escape and trade routes
What to study in the POV
- The difference between hearing no contact and actually owning Ivy
- How the defender changes depth after showing the first position
- The moment Ivy information releases or recalls an A-site teammate
