A Main
Usually starts in or near T Main and carries the direct outer-yard pressure. The player must clear the close CT aggression, create room between the trains and stay connected to Popdog and Ivy so the A attack reaches the site as a split rather than three separate fights. Depending on spawn and call, the slot can be first contact, trade, bomb escort or a late pressure piece.

About these averages
Metric: all archived map-side rows with the exact Train T “A Main” label. Timeframe: 2024-12-18 to 2026-08-28. Sample: n=1,493.
Source: CSdex V1 aggregate performance archive. Fallback: no fuzzy role-label mapping. Risk: the average describes the archive, not the correct target for every team or round.
Opening options
- Take T Main space behind prepared utility and lead the first clear into the outer yard (Aggressive)
- Hold the CT push, preserve the route and wait for Popdog or Ivy pressure to move the defenders' crosshairs (Defensive)
- Show enough presence to hold A defenders, then delay the exit or regroup when the real round develops elsewhere (Situational)
Mid-round decisions
- Before leaving T Main, identify which train and crossfire the first player must solve. The open yard punishes entries that move without a trade lane or a second point of pressure.
- Coordinate the exit with Popdog and Ivy. Even a few seconds of separation lets the CTs turn, reset and fight each route in order.
- If outer control is gained, convert it into a plant path, rotation cut or post-plant line. Wandering between trains after the opening gives the defense time to recover structure.
What breaks the structure
- Exiting T Main before the support utility and split timings are ready
- Clearing the same train as a teammate while another defender has an uncontested side angle
What to study in the POV
- The clearing order from the choke into the outer yard
- Trade spacing with the second T Main player and the Popdog timing
- How the player moves from entry responsibility into plant or post-plant coverage
